The annual AES Nashville Spring Mixer is a competition hosted by AES Nashville to benefit the schools teaching audio engineering in and around Middle Tennessee. Each school selects a team of 2-3 students who are given the opportunity to mix 1 song in 8 hours at one of 8 identical mixing rooms at MTV/CMT studios in downtown Nashville. The resulting mix is judged by a panel of industry professionals – mixing engineers, mastering engineers, and producers. The results of that judging are revealed along with anonymous comments on the students’ work at our Spring Mixer event!
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students of engineering to work on professional tracks and be critiqued by some of Nashville’s most prestigious music makers.
Thanks to our host of sponsors, the top 3 schools are the recipients of amazing prizes such as microphones, plugins, speakers, cables, etc. and the top school receives the Mixer trophy to display at their school for the following year.
